Terms of Service

Effective October 29, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and RK Media Labs of Calgary, Alberta, Canada (“Pulse”, “we”, “us”) for using the Pulse app and website. By creating an account or using Pulse, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

1. Pulse is not medical advice

Pulse gives general nutrition, fitness and wellness information. It is not a medical device and doesn’t diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. Talk to a doctor before starting a new diet or exercise program, especially if you’re pregnant, have a medical condition, take medication, or have a history of disordered eating. Stop and get medical help if you feel pain, dizziness or shortness of breath. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.

Calorie, macro and training targets are estimates based on standard formulas and what you tell us. Food data comes from public databases and other users, and can be wrong. Check labels when accuracy matters to you.

2. Coach is an AI

Coach is powered by an artificial intelligence model. Its answers are generated automatically, can be inaccurate or incomplete, and aren’t reviewed by a person or a health professional. Don’t rely on Coach for medical, legal or financial decisions. Coach can suggest changes to your plan, but nothing changes unless you approve it. Free accounts get a limited number of Coach messages a day; Pulse Plus gets more, as described in the app.

3. Your account

4. Pulse Plus subscriptions

5. Using Pulse fairly

Don’t use Pulse to break the law, harass or harm anyone, post content that’s hateful, sexual, or not yours to share, impersonate someone, try to access other people’s data, interfere with or reverse engineer the service, scrape it, or abuse Coach (for example, trying to make it produce harmful content or reveal how it works). We may limit or close accounts that do.

6. Your content

You own what you put into Pulse: your logs, photos, foods and messages. You give us permission to store and process it only to run Pulse for you (and, for group content, to show it to the members of that group). Foods you add to the shared food database may be shown to other users without your name. You can delete your content at any time.

7. Our content

The Pulse app, website, design, plans and Coach are ours or our licensors’ and are protected by law. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Pulse for your own non-commercial use while these terms apply.

8. Changes and availability

We’re a small team and Pulse will change as we improve it. We may add, change or remove features, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. If we make a change to these terms that matters, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Pulse after that, the new terms apply.

9. Ending your use

You can stop using Pulse and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, with notice where reasonable. Sections 1, 2, 6 (to the extent you’ve shared content in groups), 7, 10 and 11 continue after your account ends.

10. Disclaimers and limits

To the extent the law allows, Pulse is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including that it will be accurate, uninterrupted or right for your particular goals. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for injury, illness or loss that results from following a plan, a target or Coach’s suggestions, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Pulse in the 12 months before the claim, or C$50 if that’s more. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Alberta, unless the consumer laws where you live give you the right to bring them where you live.

12. Apple App Store

If you got Pulse from the Apple App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and we, not Apple, are responsible for Pulse and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If Pulse fails to meet any applicable warranty, you can notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); otherwise Apple has no warranty obligation. Apple isn’t responsible for any claims relating to Pulse, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, or intellectual property claims. You confirm you aren’t in a country under a U.S. government embargo or on a U.S. list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies where these terms don’t cover something.
